In the aftermath of Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic, finds himself phasing in and out of other peoples stories. As a morally ambiguous lone ranger, Metal stumbles along finding not only himself but a pretty cool leather jacket in the process. He decides to assign BlueBand, a type II ambulance being trained under the stern guidance of Ratchet. Just as the new Bot is beginning to get used to Griffin Rock, Dr. Morocco sets off a gas bomb in an encounter. All seems fine until the Rescue Bots are unable to transform out of their holoform into their bot form, and it's up to BlueBand to figure out a way to undo it. While crossing into dangerous boundaries to find new information, something goes wrong, something very wrong.
