When Kira Blackwood's name is reaped, she knows she's screwed. How is she supposed to survive in a fight to death with twenty-three other tributes, all of whom want to get out alive as much as she does? Not to mention, the thought of killing somebody twists her stomach into all sorts of unnatural shapes. Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the rights to the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, or to the Lionsgate adaptation of her books. (Obviously.) All characters of my creation are copyrighted. ~~+~~ Thank you so much for reading this, it really means so much to me!!! :) I hope you enjoy, and love it as much as I do! (Also sorry for the length, I sort have this thing for details... and long, run-on sentences... and long, run-on sentences stuffed with details...) Please note: This story is technically incomplete, bc I still want to write a few more scenes after the Games like the interviews and stuff, maybe of the Victory Tour, but I've marked it as complete bc...junior year of high school. Ain't no way that I'm finishing this anytime soon. Hopefully over Christmas break I'll get back around to it.

what if Lucy Gray had survived? what if Lucy Gray ended up pregnant and raised the child alone in the woods? Part 1: Lucy Gray is met with a difficult decision to go back to district 12 to get her daughter medical attention only to be caught by the man who so desperately wanted her gone. Lumi is a child who completely erases everything that defines who she is just to fit it. To make her father proud, although she might seem like a confident lady on the outside she's vulnerable to any manipulation and has her own insecurities and doubts about herself. Part 2: In the new era of the next four years, Lumi finds herself thrust into the role of a mentor, navigating the complex dynamics of the Hunger Games while grappling with personal challenges and evolving relationships. As she mentors her assigned tribute, Lumi confronts the harsh realities of the Capitol's oppressive regime and the moral dilemmas inherent in her position of privilege. Despite her initial misgivings, Lumi is determined to forge genuine connections with her tribute, offering him guidance and support amidst the brutality of the arena. Alongside her mentoring duties, Lumi contends with family dynamics, romantic entanglements, and the lingering shadows of her past, all while striving to uphold her principles and protect those she holds dear. Through adversity and sacrifice, Lumi embarks on a journey of self-discovery, challenging the status quo and shaping the course of her own destiny in a world fraught with uncertainty and peril.
