GOSSIP

Young Persephone Holloway is insulted for her looks by none other that the handsome and eligible Brandon Maxwell during her first season.
Having seen this an improper behavior by a gentleman of the ton, his youngest brother John Maxwell tries to placate the young deb succeeding in developing a strong bond of friendship that would last through the years.
Persephone would shove the idea of marriage aside in favor of cultivating her writing talent and land herself as a writer for the leading publication The Guardian as a anonymous gossip columnist.
Her friend John on the other hand would get expelled from university and buy a commission fermenting his place in the British Royal army.
Through a series of adventures and misadventures, the two would find themselves embroiled in the thickest of societies gossips as secrets of the British haute ton are revealed. Persephone would befriend courtesans for the juiciest gossip, John would fall in love and then go off to war.
Their lives perpetually intertwined, their friendship tested, love and heartbreaks will be revealed as they dance to the ultimate beat of life.

Note:
The British tabloid press established itself firmly in the late 19th century but prior to its realization many have written columns on the notorious lives of the British nobility much earlier. Gossip is a fictional account of one such paper and its writers.
