The year is 1974. Eva Vandenburg, the youngest child of Max and Liesel, is twenty-one years old and just not doing so well. She struggles with a drug problem, and has had many brushes with death (and the law). She feels like her parents are disappointed in her. Family circumstances send her to Germany, her family's homeland. This seems perfect. She can turn her life around, get clean, and learn about her family history. Eva inadvertently finds herself helping Sabine, a lonely, peculiar orphan girl. All the while, they will discover the past, have hope for the future, and find out the true meaning of home.
