As a dark force grows a prophecy brings together four heroes. A cleric eager to please her goddess. A fighter trying to compensate for a mistake. A rogue who wants to make a name for himself. A ranger looking for a change of pace. These four will have to work together as the fate of the realm lies in their (rather incompetent) hands. They will face trials that will test not only their physical strength and powers but also their sanity and freindship. This is a story based on the roleplay that I do with my friends so updates will probably be slow. We pretty much play D&D without a DM, as the title suggests, we take turns leading the plot and story arcs but we all have a character of our own that we play. You don't need to know any thing about D&D as this is about the story we create and not the actual D&D its self although small references may be made at times

In a world where 80% of the population has developed unique mutations in their genetic codes, giving them "superpowers", or "quirks", as they call it, it doesn't take long for fantasy and imagination to emerge out of the earth. And further, it doesn't take long for roles of "Heroes" and "Villains" to rise up as well. But... Who coins one as a "hero" or a "villain"...? The person themselves...? Or the people around them...? Light... Dark... Dusk... Dawn... Two sides of the same coin... Twilight... --- Kageyama Kazuma is a 16 year old boy, aspiring to follow his late father's footsteps, and become a hero who saves people. But... Not all can go as planned, or wished, right? So was the case for Kazuma as well, as his quirk soon found itself being held accountable for Kazuma being coined the word "villain" by those around him, before he could even begin his journey to becoming a hero. His only light in this darkness being his mother, is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that smile she treasures so much to never leave the boy's face. But... Being a human at the end of the day, she can only do so much. Follow Kageyama through his journey to becoming one of the greatest heroes in the entirety of Japan. What awaits him on this journey? Friends? Love? Hardships? That's for you to find out. [This is a rework of my first book ever, "What It Means To Be A Hero"] --- I do not own any claims/rights to the My Hero Academia verse, all rights go to Kosei Horikoshi. I only own the original characters I've added to the story, and the arts I add in the book. In case the art doesn't belong to me, I'll credit the said person in the comments. Peace.
