The moonlight touched upon the house of glass and mirror, glinting off the reflective surfaces. Standing on the upper balcony, facing the waves crashing down the beach stood a woman. Pale platinum blonde hair swung freely about her delicate face as her blue eyes burned into the night. Her lips rose in a smile. Today she would find him. Today she would seek retribution.....today she would have her revenge....

By a chance encounter, Lucien meets his true love, his fated. In his world, vampires and humans reside together mostly without conflict. There is a mutual understanding. Vampires need blood and humans supply it willingly in trade. Throw into the mix, Jocelyn, a sweet-smelling girl with a personality and attitude that blazes just as red as her hair. Jocelyn is visiting from a land unsettled, as of yet, by vampires where humans are still the hunters. She has only ever known disdain for Lucien's kind. Can Lucien change Jocelyn's mind before time runs out? Excerpt..... I stood up, leaned across the table, on my palms, smiled cooly, and said, "I'm not allowed to call you dinner." Her eyes widened, and she dropped her glass. The glass clanked against her dinner plate and crumbled. She immediately looked down at it and frantically started picking up the pieces. "Leave it for a servant," I sniped at her. Reginald, our head waiter, promptly appeared at her side and started picking up shards. Our servants were specially trained on how to clean up messes without having bloody accidents. She looked up at me with a renewed sense of hostility. "I will do it myself!" Reginald didn't move. He is trained to insist. "Please, Miss?" he asked quietly. He took hold of the piece of glass in her hand and pulled. She squeaked in pain and held her hand up in front of her face. It was in plain view so that everyone could see. Her finger had been sliced open. The sweet smell got so strong that it was almost irresistible. Prompt number: 11. Vampires are bound by an ancient destiny: their soulmate is always human, and this bond is governed by three rules. The smell of their soulmate's blood is irresistible, its taste is sweeter than anything else, and if the love is unrequited, it can be fatal. Fearing this inevitable bond, most vampires try to avoid it. But what happens when one of them discovers that their soulmate is a human who not only rejects them but loathes them?

She's dead by the third chapter. Okay, it's a bit more complicated than that. Okay, it's A LOT more complicated than that. Renata wants nothing more than to pay her bills through her mildly boring office job and figure out whether she is still in love with her best friend. The latter half of that desire is just a sneak peak into her messy life-and it's only getting messier. Considering the paranormal world she is about to dive head first into, she will come to realize that figuring out her heart may just be the easiest part of this journey. Well, the endless supply of supernatural hotness in this story may beg to differ-but that's besides the point. Either way, it's gonna be a killer time ;) EXCERPT Chicken tacos it is. Right as Renata grabbed the ingredients, she turned to put them next to the stove, where a clean, plastic cutting board awaited. But as she moved, she was confronted by a stranger, an intruder, standing mere inches from her. Before she could scream, he was on her, slamming her against the fridge. Her back flashed with sharp pain. Her eyes pricked with fear as she drank in his uncovered face. Deeply tanned skin. Ruby red eyes-ruby red eyes? Thick, slashing eyebrows. Flat, broad nose. Buzzcut. Handsome. That was as far as she would go in complimenting him considering this guy held a knife to her throat. When he spoke, his voice came out like thunder. It held a thousand threats and a thousand secrets. It held promise of pain if provoked. "If you scream," he warned, mouth pulled in a slight snarl, "this ends quickly." She didn't dare nod against the blade. He noticed and amusement lit up for just a second in those devilish eyes. Oh, whoever the fuck this was, she already hated him. Considering her predicament, panic was the most prominent emotion coursing through her at the moment. "Good." He removed his hand "Now you're going to answer my questions." °°MATURE AND EXPLICIT CONTENT OF ALL KINDS, AND I MEAN ALL KINDS°

This is a crime thriller. The air around Silverlake was crisp, the kind that stung your lungs as you inhaled deeply. The morning sun cast faint, silvery reflections on the lake's still surface. The city's namesake, Silverlake, was known for its serenity-an escape from the buzz of urban life. Joggers and early risers often flocked to its trails for moments of solitude. It was barely 6 a.m. when Martin Hayes, a retired accountant turned fitness enthusiast, jogged his regular loop. His earbuds pumped faint jazz into his ears as his feet crunched against the gravel path. The lake was quiet this morning, unusually so. As he approached the northern side of the trail, something caught his attention. At first, he thought it was a bundle of clothes or perhaps someone sleeping. But as he drew closer, dread settled into his chest. A woman lay sprawled by the water's edge, her body unnaturally still. Her arms were bent at awkward angles, and her legs extended halfway into the lake. Her face was partially submerged, her dark hair fanned out in the water like seaweed. Martin froze, his breath hitching in his throat. He yanked out his earbuds and took a tentative step forward. The first thing he noticed was her lips-painted a bright scarlet red. They seemed out of place, too vivid against her pallid skin. Her dress, once white, was smeared with dirt and grass. Scratches marred her forearms, and her nails were chipped, with remnants of dirt underneath. His eyes darted to the water. A white lily floated serenely next to her. For a brief moment, it almost looked peaceful-until he noticed the faint bruises circling her neck. She had been held down, suffocated with the very lake that mirrored the morning light so beautifully. A wave of nausea surged through Martin. He stumbled back, fumbling for his phone. His shaking fingers barely managed to dial 911. "This is... I'm at Silverlake. There's a body. A woman. Please, send someone quickly," he stammered.
