Avelyn Eisley has never been loved. And, no, not in the way that all the over dramatic teenagers who are so 'misunderstood' say they are. Her parents gave up on her when she was only three, deserting her on her at the age of eight. Alone and scared, Avelyn was forced to mature overnight. Now- at the age of only fourteen- she lives in a run down shack in the middle of a horrid neighborhood, works two jobs, and takes care of a little boy that named himself Harley. Not to mention keeping up with school.
In the midst of all her trouble, she finds someone who takes the time to get to know her- Liana Powell, a school dance instructor. Liana gives Avelyn a spot on her dance team- along with her younger brother Liam.
Avelyn never imagined that simply meeting a boy could change her life as drastically as it does.
Some of it for the better. Ultimately for the worst.
