When Kwon Jiyong leaves Seoul suddenly after his military service, his aching last words are the only thing left in his wake: "You'll be happier without me here." He has failed to renew his contract with YG Entertainment, and his face, for months, remains all over the headlines. There are blurry pictures of him that surface, and statements from fans who crossed his path, all indicating the same fact: Jiyong is no longer living the glorious idol existence he'd created for himself. The question every fan sought the answer to - why did the great, wealthy, talented G-Dragon give up everything he had strived for over the years? - becomes only faint buzzing in the background.

But they're not the only ones who are wondering. Those he left behind - Dong Youngbae, Kang Daesung, Lee Seunghyun, Choi Seunghyun - feel the effects of his choice every day. But they remain the "kings" - they put out music that most find to be their best.

And then Choi Seunghyun is involved in a horrid accident at one of BIGBANG's concerts in Seoul. He's marred, in exponential amounts of pain, and most heart-breaking, he's suddenly face-to-face with the man for whom he had fallen so deeply for the first time in two years.

While trying to accept his situation and the damage done to his face and body, Seunghyun finds himself trying also to pick apart the reasons why Kwon Jiyong left in the first place - as well as facing the choice as to whether or not it is right for them to rekindle what had been severed so abruptly years ago.

Jiyong suffers the lingering of feelings he thought were long lost as he finds himself around Seunghyun again. He tries to reconnect with his old friends - he finds a confidant in Seungri - and starts looking up.

But above it all, Seunghyun has a secret of his own...
