He was after me in a heartbeat of course - but even restricted like this I was faster than he was. I was into the woods before he'd even had a prayer of catching up.

I thought of phasing but lacked the control with my emotions dominating me so completely.

I settled for two legs as Jacob was calling out to me, asking me to wait. I pushed harder. He fell further behind, still trying to get me to stop. When I did it was a harsh thing, abrupt, causing me almost to skid against the damp forest floor.

I'd reached the end of the line. The edge of the cliff side. An aggressive ocean pushed against the bottom of the rocky shore.
I calculated the jump; it wouldn't kill me but I'd have definitely been asking for it.

Jacob cursed, "God dammit Trinity don't you dare jump. I meant it when I said until death do us part. Do us - and I will follow your crazy ass over."

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

I lost all track of time as I lay there in agony. Why hadn’t anyone come looking for me? I sensed a change in the burning, and then slowly the burning seemed to retract from my fingers and toes. The difference was so extremely small that I could hardly tell it was there. But sure enough the difference slowly became larger. Soon my hands and my feet were free, then my legs and arms. Every centimeter that the burning retracted the fire in my heart intensified. The burning kept retreating until it only remained in my heart. My heart stuttered once and a few moments later it stuttered once more, then it stopped. The pain subsided and I noticed that the pain I had before the burning was gone. I sat up and opened my eyes. Everything was clear as crystal! I could see that my cell was a small room around seven feet by five feet with the table I was laying on smack dab in the middle. A sudden need to escape overcame me and I went straight to the door. I grasped the handle and yanked, hard. The door ripped out of the wall. Amazed with my new found strength I set the door down and put it back in place after I had stepped out. How did this happen? Before I even finished the thought, I knew. James had turned me into a vampire. I tried to remember what had happened. I remember coming to Phoenix and I remembered finding the connection between James and the ballet studio…oh god! Bella! I rushed up the stairs to the main level. I zipped through the corridors looking for the door. Almost there when a flash of something caught my eye. I backtracked and saw that it was a mirror. I look in to see my reflection. I gasped.

[Just so everyone that reads this book knows, I have made the decision to just leave this book to rest. I won't edit it ever probably and no future sequels are even on the horizon. Therefore, the book will feel incomplete at the end as the sequel would've filled the gap between the last chapter and the epilogue, as well as filling the New Moon gap with mainly original content as I would've had her not be in Forks during New Moon. But I want to focus on writing my own original books, so I will probably never revisit this book to edit it, or at least not anytime soon! Sorry for anyone who is disappointed so if you read, just don't fully judge it too harshly please.] ❝I am not my hair. I am not my skin.
