Merissa Reynolds was always home-schooled due to over-protective parents, but now that she was sixteen, they decided it was best she joined the rest of society. Especially because she was strange. She has a yellow canary called Flit, and a childhood best friend, Dylan.

Dylan Brooke had always been Merissa's only friend, and he liked his role immensely. He kept it a secret from her that he was actually very much the 'in' crowd in school, and that he was cooler in school than with her.

So when Merissa breaks the news that she would be attending his high school, pandemonium ensues in a hilarious tale of misadventures and upending normal society.
