After being orphaned at a young age, Mena has always been determined to be the best. After years of training she proves herself by becoming one of her pack's Head Warriors, as well as her Alpha's Shadow.
She has no time for potential mates or relationships, her duty and training taking most of her time. She's happy with that, and refuses to give any potentials the time of day.
Ares is perfectly content leading alone, not having time for a nuisance in the form of a mate. He might reconsider if all of his potentials so far weren't weak, soft little girls who whimpered at the mere sight of him, but that hasn't happened yet.
His pack is known for producing strong, vicious warriors. They are suffering without a Luna, though, so he decides to give his next potential a chance. He might be able to make her stronger, turn her into a fierce female that deserves to be at his side.
He has no idea that his next potential could be too fierce for him to handle.
