Connor Faist Murphy was just an average kid who came from a decent family.

Only it wasn't so normal.

He suffered from crippling depression. And his family isn't really much of a help. He just wishes someone could help him out throughout his day. Although it's not like his nature, he wants a friend.

He needs a friend.


Evan Hansen was an anxious mess. He went to therapy for almost throughout his growing period. It all started with a February day.

He's head over heels over a girl. Zoe. Who could never really notice him.

He wanted to be heard. He longed for someone to notice him as he tapped through the glass, which seemed like a barrier. He needed someone to talk to.

Someone who could understand.

Evan Hansen is an introverted teenager with severe social anxiety. His mother, in attempt to get Evan out of his shell and into the world, pushes him to sign up for a theatre class. After some arguing and relentless begging, Evan reluctantly agrees, only wanting to make his mom happy. Connor Murphy, facing depression, drug addiction, and an increasingly deteriorating relationship with his family, finds joy only in weed and acting. He'd been attending the same class for three years, the only place he felt at peace. On Evan's first day, he notices everyone else already had their own groups of friends, no one was alone, except him. Well, him and the boy with the long hair and black hoodie who was intimidatingly brooding in the corner. Connor is not the most welcoming, in fact he's far from it. Though, eventually he begins to tolerate Evan's presence, and soon goes from tolerating it to enjoying it. When Evan miraculously gets cast as the lead role in a show the class is performing, Connor takes it upon himself to help Evan step into the spotlight.
