Every season five children are taken to the castle of Vendetta and thrown into its prison with one command from the king. 

"You will receive no food or water until only one of you remain." 

So that is how it goes. Only one out of the five children remain. Until the day comes where that isn't the case.

Taking refuge in a hollow tree she doesn't realize she has wandered into another King's territory... Warning: When the story begins a disturbing theme of potential sexual assault is mentioned, but this is not the main or entire plot of the story. The main female lead is 20 years old and the main male lead is 22-25. It is not clearly outlined in the novel I don't think. This is based on a fairy tale.
