Darkness has spread throughout the lands of Alagaësia. The Impending war threatens to tear Alagaësia apart as the tyrannic Empire under the Mad King Galbatorix has multiple conflicts with the rebel forces of the Varden. As the new dragon rider and now anointed the title shadeslayer, Eragon and his dragon Saphira head to Du Weldenvarden with the elf Arya, a presence since lost long ago has begun to reveal itself. 

It all starts when a boy by the name of Derek ventures to the deepest reaches of the Spine, where no one else would venture. In the deepest parts of the Spine lays a lake, a lake where one of the biggest secrets lays dormant, waiting to be awaken. 

What will Derek find once he reaches the lake? What awaits him in the depths of the lake? What was the secret that was lost through time? And what will happen to Alagaësia when it is reveal?

This is an Eragon Fanfiction. This story takes place at the end of Eragon and the beginning of Eldest. There are some spoilers, so if you haven't read the series, then I must apologize for it then if you read this.

The series was great to read and hopefully this will be too. 

As I said, this a fanfic. All the people and places belong to Christopher Paolini respectively. I don't own any of the characters from the original storyline for the exception of Derek and the main character of this story, who will be reveal within the story.

Kaye used her power and her father’s reviving necklace to revive from the lava to vanish the Dark Dragon.  Because of the mayor's memory ball had appeared her something and in Kaye’s blood, her parent’s blood was mixed. So she thought it for few minutes if she’s powerful to accept or not to accept.  At the end, the mayor honored her as the Heroine Warrior and her companions to replace the mayor’s soldiers from them.
