Smoke and Mirrors

I followed schedules, my life structured with strict uniformity and delicacy. I had no one but the characters I saw, read, and dreamt about. Most importantly, however, I had her. We kept one another company and synchronized our lives together harmoniously. We were flawless, parallels of one another. We were untouched by solitude.

Until we no longer matched.
