Love is a beautiful thing, but can also cause total devastation. Detective Gabriel Laroche loved Rose, yet she deserted him. Now Gabriel has found a new lover, Amber Richardson, and they are engaged to be married. Rose has also fallen for someone else; a rival detective of Gabriel's, Robert Scott. He loves her dearly... or does he? Rose has started to doubt wether his feelings for her are real or wether he is simply using her to get at Gabriel. But she will never find out. For on the 10th of December 1909, as the engagement party of Gabriel and Amber is in motion, a life is lost, and old, buried feelings are brought to the surface. Will Gabriel Laroche be able to unveil the truth of the killing before the murderer strikes again?

I suck at descriptions honestly just read with book ;) Here's a fun snippet: "You kissed them?" Chase whispers to me. "No! Well yes and no, kind of. Now's not the fucking time," I stop myself from rambling. "Put the gun down," Louis demands. "Or we will shoot!" "What if I shoot first," I challenge. "Five of us and two of you. You knock down one or two of us we'll have your name on a gravestone," Louis grins evilly. "Are you underestimating my shooting skills?" I question. "Do you want to find out," Louis dares. "No! No the fuck we don't," Chase yells. He shoots me a 'what the fuck is wrong with you' look and I shrug.
