There was a smell of blood in the air, a scent of rust and salt that she reveled in. Drunk on the aroma of her life leaking into the floorboards, she lay in bed, eyes closed, laughing manically. As she tired, she quieted, her arm still stinging. Mentally, she thanked her demon.
