It's been 2 years since the war has ended. Katniss went back to district 12 with Gale, and they helped each other with the pain. She missed Peeta. She didn't know when he was gonna come back. Katniss started to lose her feelings she had for him. That's when she and Gale came closer and became lovers. Eventually Peeta came back to District 12 with Finnick, and moved back into his house in Victors Village. Finnick stayed with him to watch him, and make sure he's ok after the treatment he was given for his highjacking. 2 months later Katniss learns he's back; she wants nothing more than to at least be his friend. They grow back together as friends, and in the midst of it all hell breaks loose. What happens when Katniss gets that phone call?

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Please do not attempt to recreate it in any form. Additionally, if ideas in this work are similar to that of other writings, it is purely coincidental and I apologize deeply for any inconvenience. Their eyes met from across the room. Him, a successful baker with a hard life at home. Her, a music teacher who sang on the weekends. Both had just turned 25. They both felt like they were drowning in the life they were living. Both felt something was missing. He buys her a drink. She gives him a smile. They start talking and as the night goes on, they feel the light that they had been missing. They go to a motel and get a room under false names, sharing a night that finally makes each feel whole. But there is a fatal flaw to this fairy tale. For both were already married. These two were star crossed lovers who were never meant to be. But it's funny how fate changes that. The Runaways
What if Katniss and her family, Gale and his family, and Peeta and his brother ran away from District Twelve after the Victory Tour? For this fic to be plausible, we need to assume: Katniss is 'selfish' enough to choose her own safety over that of other people (which she isn't because she's awesome). Gale doesn't know about the uprising in 8. Peeta tried to get his family to come too but only got his brother to agree, and he is okay with this. Haymitch doesn't do anything to stop them. President Snow has not electrified the fence (but let's assume he did electrify it that one time) and has no cameras in the woods. So if we can accept all of this, let's do it!Complete

What if the famous Mockingjay from the hunger games never killed President coin and killed Snow instead. Katniss Everdeen is married to Peeta Melllark the love of her life and are back in district twelve. Coin kept the games and Prim is still dead. Mrs. Everdeen lives in katniss's old victor home and is a grandmother to twins. Diana Mellark and Finnick Mellark. Gale lives in district two with his own family. Haymitch is a grandfather because he married Katniss's mom after all they went through. Katniss and Peeta's kids are very different. Diana is like Katniss and has her skills with a bow and arrow and hunting. She has her father's talent with a sword, painting, and baking. Finnick on the other hand is like his aunt Prim and grandmother. He likes to take care of people. The story starts with Diana as a seventeen-year-old on the day of the reaping of the 99th hunger games. The Mellarks have a track record for being in love with their district partner. Will it happen again with one of their kids. Also Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch don't have to be mentors. I don't own the characters of the original hunger games.
