It's been 2 years since the war has ended. Katniss went back to district 12 with Gale, and they helped each other with the pain. She missed Peeta. She didn't know when he was gonna come back. Katniss started to lose her feelings she had for him. That's when she and Gale came closer and became lovers. Eventually Peeta came back to District 12 with Finnick, and moved back into his house in Victors Village. Finnick stayed with him to watch him, and make sure he's ok after the treatment he was given for his highjacking. 2 months later Katniss learns he's back; she wants nothing more than to at least be his friend. They grow back together as friends, and in the midst of it all hell breaks loose. What happens when Katniss gets that phone call?

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Please do not attempt to recreate it in any form. Additionally, if ideas in this work are similar to that of other writings, it is purely coincidental and I apologize deeply for any inconvenience.
