The Gory Details (Gross)
Between 2004 and 2008 I wrote a series of "Tips for Writers" for Nocturnal Ooze magazine vaguely about what would happen in real life if you did the things they do in movies but mostly about the gross out. I've always loved them and so have taken them out of mothballs for a new audience here on wattpad. They're all here except for #13 which seems to have vanished. I've also left them mostly intact except for a few very dated references that have been updated. I own the rights to the articles and Queen Mum of the Ooze, Kay Patterson has allowed me to keep the name "Gore Monger" (which she owns) provided I write: The Gore Monger appears courtesy of Nocturnal Ooze. Sunflower Lullabies: Bonded by a Field [SAMPLE]
"Tell me about your daughter, Ms. Light." "Her name was Desederia April Light. Of course, she made everyone call her Daya for sake of causality, but she nonetheless was an amazing girl. She had bright amber eyes, gorgeous curly hair, and she aspired to be a firefighter because she loved helping people. She wanted to save lives. Her favorite color was orange because she claimed that it was under appreciated, and she adored Autumn because of the vibrancy. She was obsessed with sunflowers, too. She was just a normal girl, just a normal kid." "So then what happened?" "I..don't know. Things just changed one day. She grew paranoid and quiet, her grades dropped, and she'd beg us to stay home. I'd just tell her to grow up, but I should've listened." "But you really don't have an idea of why?" "I wish that I did. I wish I knew then what I know now, and I wish I took the matter more seriously when she tried to tell me." "So, Ms Light, tell me, do you think we'll find her?" "I don't know. But I know my Daya, and I know how smart she is. She might get to us before we get to her." ~ This is an unedited sample. The full, edited version is available on my Amazon Kindle (link in bio). In The Dark
Mia Graham. I've always thought of the world to be a good place. The people in it as well. This man is definitely intimidating and a bit scary but I see how sweet and caring he is. He shows me a lot but he hides even more. He thinks he's the dark and he's determined to show me that he's not worth my time. But he doesn't understand he's all I'll ever want. He doesn't get that I love every dark piece of him. I want everything. But I don't know if he'll let me have it all. Ryder Carson. The world is a terrible place. The people might be worse. That's all I've ever known. But this woman is a masterpiece. An angel. This world is unworthy of her light. These people get to bask in it when all they deserve is to be scalded. This life is terrible. But she's making it a whole lot better. She's making it seem worth it. I just don't deserve her. I'm drowning in the dark and I will not drag her down with me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Strong language, 6 year age-gap, alcoholism, violence, mature-content, mental health, etc. Read warning list. Submission
Highest ranking #1 as on 4th July 2017 "Tell me you are mine" the cold, sharp, merciless blade tried to force me into submission. Into HIS submission. I am not a property that anyone can own. "I-I am yours". Green is supposed to be my favorite color but as I look into his green merciless eyes I feel nothing but fear. "Good girl. Now, we don't want your dear ones hurt, do we?" **** Where do you see yourself in three years? Two? One? What gives you the certainty that there will be one at all? In a world where most people dream and everything is normal, how would it feel to not know what normal is? Life is never easy, and it won't ever be. It's harder when you have demons of your past and devils in your present to fight against. No one wants to lose, but how long can you keep yourself stable? Only the strong and brave survives in the race. Is she strong and brave? Triggers are present.Complete
In Loving Memory of My Brother
|5X FEATURED · SPOTLIGHT STORY| Learning to cope with death is one of the most challenging obstacles any of us has to face, especially if that death is unexpected. When your whole world has changed, what do you do to overcome grief and keep your loved one's memory alive? *** I never knew how much trauma could affect a person until after my older brother died unexpectedly on August 17th, 2021. I came out of the experience as not the Victoria I was used to, but the Victoria who now had a massive hole in her heart. I come from a long line of fighters. My family and I pulled off different strategies to help us move on from such a devastating death, strategies that I am going to share in this book. Sometimes, the best way to overcome grief is to write about it. After all, writing is an escape to a different world where I still have my Green Guardian. These pieces and pictures I'm going to share with you are not meant to depress anybody, but to illustrate just how wonderful a person Matthew was. His story is sad, but it's a story of hope. His legacy remains in my heart today, and I want to share it because I know I'm not the only person who has lost somebody so unexpectedly. *** Ovid (on when his brother died): "iamque decem vitae frater geminaverat annos, cum perit, et coepi parte carere mei."
