In a dystopian New York City, there lies an hourglass. It's the size of a grandfather clock, a vintage thing full of black sand. Yet, it holds the entire Earth's future. When the sand runs out, it marks the end of the world. Every week, on Friday at 11:59pm when the sand is almost gone, humans turn the hourglass over, and the countdown starts once again.

No one knows where this hourglass was found. All they know is they rely on it to live.

 This goes on for centuries.

One day, the hourglass is stuck, and they can't turn it around. They're trapped. They have seven days, and it's up to Haley Riordan and his best friend and secret crush Robynn Glickman to save the world.

They find secrets and learn more about the mysterious Hourglass in their quest against time. They must complete their mission when time still ticks.

Some fates are worse than death--survival is one of them. In the two hundred years since humanity left the Earth's surface to live in the sky, life on the ground faded to a myth, a tragic memory from which they severed themselves to survive. They floated above continents turned to sand and lands swallowed by the seas, watched storm after storm rage against their cities and their monuments until they broke apart the last vestiges of civilization in penance for generations of human greed. As a lightning harvester charged with flying her ship into these storms for energy, Raina has seen more of the planet than most. She has spent her entire life soaring above its craters and scars, studying the gaping wounds of human devastation, as she honed her skills and became the youngest captain in storm-chaser history. Her ship has flown for generations. Her skills are unparalleled. But none of that matters the day they go down. ~ Praise for Earth, After: "I'm so not ready for this ending. A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. Navigating teenage life is hard enough-- an older brother who doesn't have his life together, parents that never seem to be around the house, adventuring with the BEST friend in the world, meeting the cute boy who just moved in down the street --all while trying to be "normal." For Eva May, normality in this day to day life is anything but possible. Eva was born with a curse, or as the world would see it (if they even knew), a gift. Above the head of everyone she sees, she can see a countdown. A clock ticking down the years, days, hours, minutes, seconds until they die. As Eva interacts with people and sees people interact with each other, she can watch the rhythm of their clocks slow or quicken depending on what is going on. A day can turn sour when she sees a clock with only a few hours left, or can turn into a celebration when she slows or stops the ticking of someone's timer. In "expired," Eva meets Clay Walker, the typical boy next door who loves his dad, bikes, and adventures with no direction. As Eva gets to know Clay, she notices something is a bit off with his clock: the more she befriends him, the faster it goes. How can Eva try and help Clay, and what will happen as their relationship develops and his time starts ticking down? Find out in Brianna M. Cruz's teen romance novel, "expired."
