Well here is a story all about that. Twenty year old Kylie Hammonds loves the ocean. She can't get enough of it, until she accidentally drowns while on a family vacation. She wakes up a week later surrounded by mer-people and learns that when humans die in the ocean, they are reborn into mermaids. Kylie becomes eager to show her family that she is alright and alive but she is forced to give up her old life and accept the sea-life. Even if that means she has to eat kelp.
