"Do you promise we will always be best friends?" I asked shyly, looking over to him.
"I promise we will always be best friends, Gracie." Thomas replied, smiling at me. I held up my pinky and he took it and entwined it with his own. He wrapped his arms around me and we hugged for a long time until the teacher called everyone to come back inside. That was the day Thomas and I became best friends.
