"Upstairs!" I hear a yell and pounding footsteps. I crawl out of the window until I'm hanging from my hands. I take a breath. I let go. ~ Living in a small town with a single mother, Mia Glenn never expected anything special to come of her life. She never thought she would go on an adventure as harrowing as the stories she read. Until one day she narrowly avoids being kidnapped, discovering in the same day a whole new universe that she is supposedly a part of. As she navigates the elven world of Earthe with the help of a particularly attractive elf boy, she learns secrets about her identity and her father's, of whom she believed had ditched her and her mom at an early age. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it. Safe to say she finds herself in one hell of an adventure. - - TW: if you need a tw for fighting, violence, weapons, blood, death, etc. I would read with caution (I don't get into any gory details, but there are scenes w/ this) I will put tw's for the more violent scenes.Complete

Lord Deric tries to win her heart, but Aria's eyes are on Owen, the shy blacksmith. When Aria finds out she is the next Guardian of Torenth according to a prophecy, she must figure out a way to keep her father out of Torenth. The quest is to find a powerful gem in the Deep Forest, and then to use what powers it bestowed on them to delve into the Mountain Barrier. There, they will have to find the Light to dispel the growing Darkness within. Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.Complete
