It's been a month since Joker was put into Arkham and Bruce is worried. Is the clown there for good or is he planning something? When he gets to Arkham the last thing he expected was to see Joker bruised, bloody and broken. He makes the decision to take Joker into his care.
Bruce has always had feelings for his clown but pushed them away. During his time caring for Joker, he accepts his feelings, soon enough having an actual relationship with him. But he's afraid he can't protect Joker from the people who hurt him before.
