"Dear Future Self," Is a story about a girl named Lauren. On an unexpected day she gets a letter from her 8 year old self.
I ran through the house doors, threw the mail on the counter and ran upstairs to my room. Locked myself in my room and sat down.
Then a knock came to my door. I opened the door fast, swinging open. "Lauren, look you got mail!" Said my mom.
Everything was moving so fast I couldn't tell what was going on. My heart was broken already and I couldn't do anything else. My useless 17 year old self was basically broken in a million pieces."uh...ok, what about it?" I was extremely confused. I bite my lip making sure I don't shout anything out that I would regret.
"Look, its from 2009, from you. It's your handwriting, look, LOOK! See it exciting!" I had no idea why my mom was so excited from a piece of paper by an 8 year old. "Honey, are...are you okay? You look pretty...nervous."
Oh shot she could tell that I was nervous. "nope..." my eyes widen in shock. "Just a bunch of homework..." I lied it was a Wednesday afternoon, teachers at West High doesn't usually give out homework on Wednesdays. "Uhh...bye mom, homework you know." I said as I close the door on her face. My phone started buzzing. 'UGHH Jessica stop texting me' I shouted in my head.
"Oh...okay honey, just in case if you are interested." My mom said as she slide the envelope under the door space.
"Ok..." I said. I took my phone out and started to text Jessica.
Jessica: Where did you go! You just left without saying anything!
Lauren: home :(
I put the envelope on my dresser. "Like I ever touch that thing" I said as I rolled my eyes and laid in bed.
