Hazel Deven wasn't your average teenage girl. She didn't like gossip or dresses, didn't obsess over boys, and hated how snobby the girls were at her school. Instead she read comic books, liked to make music tracks of her own, and played football with her friends. She always hung out with the guys and never really paid attention to how "good looking" they were. But when Bryan Hill and Mars Neil come into her life she can't decide on her feelings.

Mars Neil is called the "golden boy", if you will, along with his 4 friends and trust him, it's not that fun. Getting weird stares from kids, being "worshipped" and girls always up on you. It's like you can't breathe but when he first sees Hazel Deven he wants to get to know her right away. If only Bryan would back off.

Bryan Hill just came back from his suspension. His friends are happy to see him and he returns the favor. But when he notices a girl is hanging with them. He couldn't be any more upset. He plans to make her life a living- But when he notices her personality he can't help but feel butterflies.

Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. She wouldn't be able to stand the attention of everyone around her. That's why she won't tell Ryan Bloore, her crush for three years, that she practically worships the ground he walks on. Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.

I'd decided I wasn't going to let anyone walk all over me or bring me down, and I was surviving just fine. But then I met him. Masen Brown. I call him Barbie, though. Or Pudding Face. Or Walking STD. The list of insults goes on and on, I hate him that much. He's rotten to the core, a bully, a womanizer, and the cockiest guy I've ever met. I'm going to teach him his place. One way or another. He doesn't give in without a fight. He strikes back each time, though I'm not one to give up or be intimidated. He's going to see he's finally met his match in me. So, either he'll learn his lesson, or I'm going to make him learn it.
