Just a Broken Heart is a short story based on a picture I found on Pinterest and the quote "I am walking on an ocean of happiness I can not baptize myself in" from Explaining My Depression to My Mother by Sebrina Benaim (spoken word; a conversation).

This story is about a young girl falling in love and fighting with her inner demons well being pulled back and forth by love and fear.

Bliss. Delight. Contentment. Euphoria. Elation. Joy. Glee. Felicity. Jubilation. These are all words synonymous to the word happiness. But what is true happiness? Happiness is that feeling of butterflies fluttering around in your chest, trying to break out. Happiness is that invisible fluid rushing in your veins, making you shiver in the most wonderful way. Happiness is the force that pulls your cheeks up into the widest smile and makes your eyes twinkle. Happiness makes you light-headed and giddy, it is in fact like alcohol. Well then, I am utterly and completely drunk. When you're happy, everything feels amazing. Even small insignificant things like getting up in the morning. The golden hue of sunlight streaming in through the curtains feels like a soft caress from the hand of a lover. The birds seem to chirp sweetly outside, a melody to which the leaves sway as if mesmerised by their music. The curtains tango with the wind beautifully. Every little thing seems perfect. And that's a word I'd use to describe my life. Perfect. To give you a little introduction about me, let me start by explaining the most important aspects of my life. I have a loving family. There's my sarcastic, yet surprisingly sweet brother, my beautiful mother (both in looks and spirit) and my stern, yet humorous father. I have the best best friend, Charlotte and I have an amazing boyfriend, Theo. I'm quite beautiful and popular too which I'm not saying to brag, I'm just stating the truth. So that is my life. The life of Tia-Jade Garcia. *** What she didn't know was that every high has a low and that the higher you rise, the lower you fall and the more painful that fall is. Follow her story as she loses everybody she ever cared for and thereby her happiness. See her fight all of her demons by herself. Watch her fall in love...with herself because the only person's love you'll always need is yours. This is her self-love story.

"Pieces of Me" is a raw and poignant journey through the complexities of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. The story follows a young boy who, tormented by bullying because of his feminine voice, learns to mask his true self in an attempt to survive the cruel realities of school life. As he grows older and enters high school, he feels the weight of having to conform to societal expectations of having a masculine voice, sacrificing his authenticity to fit in. In his search for acceptance, he falls deeply in love with someone who seems to offer the comfort and connection he's longed for. But this love soon turns toxic, as betrayal and manipulation emerge from the person he trusted most. The emotional and physical abuse he endures leaves deep scars, shattering his sense of self-worth. Despite the overwhelming darkness, "Pieces of Me" is a story of healing. Through the pain, the protagonist embarks on a journey of self-discovery, learning to reclaim the shattered pieces of his heart and identity. It's a tale of resilience, where every scar tells a story of survival, and ultimately, of finding strength in vulnerability. As he pieces himself back together, he learns that true love and acceptance must first come from within. This is a story about reclaiming one's voice, embracing individuality, and discovering that the fragments of our past, no matter how broken, can come together to create something whole. Disclaimer: Pieces of Me contains explicit content, including sexual themes, trauma, homophobia, abuse, and violence. This story is based on real events and is centered around the LGBTQ+ experience. Mature story. Contains depictions of sexual situations and strong language. "Tell me you love me," were the last words she heard from someone she loved dearly, who left a large hole in her heart. Do something you hate. Misery brings up character. Doing something she hates and misery that follows seems to be what it's all about in her life. After too many tragic endings in her relationships, she has been too afraid to fall in love again. But when her boss tells her to go to a fundraiser, and he waltzes into her life, she falls into pieces, because she's too scared to admit to love again. She creates her own misery and does something she hates for awhile. She runs half way across the world to flee from making the right decision, and chooses the wrong guy before realizing that there is really no one else for her than him. But who said it was easy to love a celebrity? Who said it would be a fairy tale romance with rose petals and all? She'd like to share a piece of her mind with that waif.
