This is a homophobia awareness poem I wrote for a poetry assignment in English. I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was apparently good enough for me to win my classes little poetry slam (hello 20 extra credit points). This poem ended up spanning about five pages and was a lot of fun (is that an okay word to use for this?) to write because I got to bring the dangers of homophobia and bullying into light for my classmates, who had a habit of saying "you're a Fag" to each other a lot. It seemed to work for many of them and a few actually toned it down. So I'm proud.
This poem will actually end up in my story The Doodle and The Poet. As it was kind of inspired by the same thoughts and events.

I'm giving a trigger warning right now because this is about depression and self harm, and it discusses bullying, suicide and of course homophobia.

If reading about any of these things causes ANY harmful thoughts, I urge you not to read.

However if you do read I thank you and hope you enjoy (as much as you can with such a depressing poem).
Feed back is much appreciated.
Props to you if you recognize the song the "beat" of the poem comes from.
Thanks for reading my long aßs description.

She is an outcast. She finds it easier to express what she feels in the form of writing. Whether it is poems, letters or long texts. These are poems that she writes trying to describe how it feels to live with certain mental health issues, in a world that disregards outcasts. So, these are on the darker side of the spectrum. Some poems might be distressing for some readers. I personally enjoy consuming dark content, it's kinda like a coping mechanism. I really hope none of you relate with any of these :) I'll be posting only poems here, I'll try to be as active as I can. The poems are not in any order. They are just the thoughts that pop up any time of the day. (8.11.2023) PS: Please check out 'safe space'. I need your help to make it a real safe space, readers!
