At seven years old, I didn’t know how to swim. At seven years old, I thought pools were monsters. At seven years old, I was saved by my brother. At seven years old, I nearly died. It was a shock to my father... My brother could swim so why couldn’t I?
Natsuki Ami, daughter of a former professional swimmer and fraternal twin to a successful American swimmer, is afraid of swimming, afraid of pools and afraid of water. She has been a mess since both her brother and mother died, and so has her father. Moving them to Japan in the hopes of forgetting past, Natsuki's father desperately wants to forget all that happened… He wants to forget that his wife, and his son are dead. He doesn't want to be around anyone or anything that reminds him of them.
'Smile' isn't just a Rin x OC Free! Iwatobi Swim Club fanfic, but a story of a girl trying to overcome numerous challenges. Will Natsuki ever be able to face her fears? Will she ever gain the much wanted love that she desires from her father? Will her journey in Japan bring her and her father together or push them apart.
Most importantly, will Natsuki ever be able to feel happy, to be able to truly smile again?
