His face held a beautiful smile as he slipped the intricate ring into his fiancée's sleek finger. His gaze raised up and he looked with so much love. The whole room erupted into appraises and applauds as they cheered for the couple.

He looked down scratching his neck and a slight red tinge on his cheeks. His gaze raised again and roamed over all the people present, until he found the one he was searching for.

Smiling at him, she gave him a thumbs-up and his smile widened much more . He turned away as they posed for photographs. Happy smiles, love in the eyes. It was all she ever imagined to live with him.

A nudge on her shoulder made her look away from him and she faced the person. A small sad smile on their lips and she looked down with tears threatening to pool up her eyes.

She sat looking at the big mirror blushing and thinking about her groom, she didn't even know his name. She eagerly waited for him to come and take her with him to his home, to their home. The things which she had never imagined in her life about marriage, home, romance, relationship etc., she was thinking about it all today. She hears the door open and she closes her eyes, her head bowed down, cheeks blushed while her chest heaved up and down due to heavy breathing. She hears a voice talking to her from a bit far. She had her back to him. "Hi, Thanks a lot. If you hadn't come, then I would have been on the streets. You really did a good job. The director was impressed with your improvisation though the role was small." She was confused, what is her groom speaking about. She opens her eyes and turns around to see him. Her face falls, it was not her husband. He hands an envelope to her and thanks her before he leaves. She takes the envelope still confused. She thinks - Oh! This must be a wedding gift from his friend. But what was he speaking about, I couldn't understand anything ... Marriage was not on her list but when it happened, it happened in a strange way. ❝Bhoot pret nikat nahi aavey, Mahavir jab naam sunavey...❞ It was late at night, when I heard a knock on the window. I froze hearing the knock. Slowly, I got up from my study table and tiptoed toward my bed, trying to decide if I should check the window. But something told me not to, so I climbed on the bed instead. I'm not opening that window. I know how in horror movies, the main character hears some creepy noise and runs straight towards it. Like hello? do they not care there could be a whole-ass ghost waiting to jump on them? Another knock. I squeezed my eyes shut, gripping the blanket tightly. If this is how I die, I swear I'm haunting the ghost back. I was on the verge of running to wake up my parents when I heard a sneeze and then... my name whispered slowly. "Pratiksha." It clicked in an instant. Oh god! I shot up from the bed, hurriedly unlocking and opening the window. Before I could even react, he tumbled through and fell directly on the floor with a thud. I gasped in shock, half laughing but also panicking at the sight of him in my room. "How did you-" I started to ask, but he quickly clamped his hand over my mouth. I stared at him. He leaned in closer and whispered, "Don't make noise, or we'll both be in trouble." What. Is. Happening. ~~~ If overthinking was a sport, she would have won every time. He, on the other hand, one moment, he was the smoothest guy around. The next, he was doing something completely silly just for fun. Together, they were like a perfect mess. But a twist of destiny tore them apart. Six years later, they met again, the love that once bloomed was now buried under layers of hatred, from both sides. Could they move past the hurt, the anger and the six years that had turned them into stranger?

It's about surviving it. _________ A twisted smile spread across his face as he leaned in closer, his hot, alcohol-laced breath over her. He pressed his nose to her neck, inhaling deeply before pulling back slightly to growl in her ear, "You can't run away anymore." he slurred, his voice a sinister whisper. His eyes bore into hers with a mix of anger and possessiveness that made her blood run cold. Her mind raced, desperately trying to think of a way to escape. "Let me go!" she cried, her voice trembling. She tried to pull away, but he only tightened his grip, his other hand moving to her waist to hold her closer. "You're mine," he growled, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "And no one gets to take what's mine, not even your bastard lover".

"Stop there" I startled at the sudden loud voice. I turned my head towards it's direction. There I saw him standing near our bedroom door. Or should I say his bedroom? He kept on staring at me angrily while my fingers are trembling. I gulped loudly which made him to smirk devilishly. He pointed his index finger at my dresses and things which he threw out from his room. Now it looked like a mess. "Take all this mess to the room near the kitchen. Never ever try to get in my room again. Got it?" He asked me in a icy tone. I stared at his eyes which showed pure hatred and disapproval. When he found I am not gonna respond to his question, he shook his head and muttered something under his breath. He went into his room and closed the door behind him with a bang which brought me back into reality. I felt a warm liquid running down my cheeks. I placed my hand on it to find it is my tears. 'No Kavi You are stronger than this. Dont cry. Dont show your weakness' I said to myself.
