It's been ten years since Arthur has died, Camelot being put into the Dark Ages once more. Affecting every single person in the five kingdoms. Especially Merlin.
After Arthur died, after Merlin failed to fulfill his destiny, he retreated into the same cave his father hid in. He failed. He failed Arthur. Camelot. Himself. There was nothing left for him there.
But now he gets a second chance.

Merthur AU (Set around early season 4) Arthur Pendragon is the new king of Camelot having assumed the throne after his father's death at the hands of his sister, Morgana. One day while out on a hunt, a Druid appears, telling him of his destiny; a man named Emrys who resides in Ealdor. The Druid advises the king to seek out the man, for Arthur's destiny cannot begin without him, for he is Morgana's doom. Merlin is a young warlock living in the small farming village of Ealdor. His life is quiet. He spends his days toiling away at the fields with his best friend Will while honing his magical talents with the help of his mentor, Gaius, the physician from Camelot who visits on occasion. When he meets Arthur Pendragon, he can't help but hate the prat. Of course, until he gets to know him better. Meanwhile, Morgana scours the kingdom for the sorcerer Emrys. Desperate to find him before he finds her. When her search leads her towards Ealdor, she's surprised to find Arthur there, and with a scrawny peasant boy no less. This is a fanfiction about Merlin. Arthur and merlin were just on a hunting trip when bandits kidnapped merlin. Arthur is devastated. He is willing to do anything to get merlin back. A Herald of a New Age
Revealfic set after 4x10: The Druid boy leaves a lasting impression on Arthur and in an attempt to fulfill his promise to the spirit he sets out to find the Druid tribes of Camelot and bring them together to make peace. He learns of stories, prophecies and of Emrys. He also can't get it out of his mind that the Druids are acting strange around his manservant, but he is sure the truth will come out soon enough, after all- Merlin couldn't keep a secret if his life depended on it.
