Above Everything

Earth’s future is dark. I walk, breathing in what will most likely be my first and last fresh breath of air. I look around. If you had the knowledge that everyone around you is going to suffer, would you tell? Would you tell them that they will be terrified? That no one will help them? That is my job. I carry that burden. That decision. I alone must be the one to bring about change. I alone know what the future holds. This blessing is now my curse. I sought knowledge, but nothing good ever comes of that. I must play hero in a world that does not yet even know that it needs to be saved.
