The duty of a reaper is to reincarnate souls and kill people whose souls are corrupt. Demons need to eat human souls to survive.
To become a full Grim Reaper, reapers must turn their scythe into a Death Scythe by killing a full-fledged Demon. In turn, to become a full-fledged Demon, demons must kill and eat the soul of a Grim Reaper.
Kadine Nysasia, Azrail, and Nairobi are in the middle of collecting souls on the Death List when they suddenly sense the presence of a demon. They investigate and meet Tina and Emily Cross, the children of both a reaper and a demon. Tina is taken by an infamous demon to the demon realm, and the reapers and Emily embark on a journey to save her.
When a girl retrieved from Earth is brought into the demon realm, Ty is summoned by the King. He is ordered to train and protect her. Along with his friends, Ty sets out to show the new girl the ropes.

Soul Eater and her team, along with Death's fifteen year old son, Grim the Kid, set out for Story, Wyoming where Abelinda and the Hybrid are hiding out. There they discover that Abelinda turned her own son, Yasha, into a Hybrid, and a raging battle ensues. Abelinda and Yasha escape, and Soul and her team are forced to return back to the GMATY empty-handed. But Abelinda is planning something sinister, and there is something in Soul that Grim sees...that may not be a good thing.Complete
