Mature
Violet Thompson had high expectations about moving from the UK to the USA.

She thought her loving boyfriend would become less clingy, that her overbearing mother would become less controlling and she definitely thought that American life would be a doddle.

Turns out, that having space doesn't always mean that you can't still feel suffocated, living on a different continent doesn't necessarily mean you're out of reach from being controlled and the American life was far from easy.

Well, the American life could've been easy. If it wasn't for the tanned, toned and tattooed hunk that kept appearing in her life.

But if she admitted it to herself, he'd had her hooked since she heard The Accent.

The Moving Times Of Caroline Proudly by CarolineProudly
20 parts Complete
Caroline is 16 when she suddenly decides that her perfectly normal and loving home life is absolutely and completely intolerable. Suddenly moving out of home in 1988 is the beginning of a 13 year journey. As the journey continues, the passage of time has no significance. Always with the ability to find the humorous side, each address marks another chapter in Caroline's life and is the backdrop for the people she meets and the events that occur. Accommodation varies from unheated rooms and houses with wheel-less cars jacked-up outside to Regency flats and rural cottages. Transportation means vary from a single use bicycle, to Betsa and the faithful Dwanetta. Flatmates vary from a lovely Brummie and a singing nun to a dying dog, a ginger laminator, a 3 nippled geek and an accidental spell with a local drugs baron. Events vary from harbouring boarding schoolgirls, exercising racehorses, the occasional rave, trading in shampoo and marmite on toast to looking for stolen laundry, going undercover and self-defence with a hockey stick. Jobs vary from not having one to shop work, bartending and au pair through to getting a toe on the corporate ladder. There is infatuation, and love from various sources so there is also disappointment, and breakups by varying means and for various reasons. Education varies from a bit of formal study to a large dollop of the University of Life. The latter being the real reason Caroline left home in the first place - to grow up in her own way through her own experiences with no-one else to blame but herself and the interesting hand that life deals along the way. Caroline moves home 19 times, only to find that the 20th move takes her to the last place she ever expected to be. Back where she started. Things aren't always as they seem...

"Its been one year and eight months since, and now all of a sudden you bring her up, why now? Out of all days?" I ask Jake sincerely. "I can see the act your putting up in front of everyone. The recklessness and all. You can get away with all of that with everyone else, but you can't fool me Bil," Jake tells me concerningly. "Why does it matter? I moved on, I have Drew. I'm not stuck on her anymore. Clearly - I've proven that by now," I say to Jake. "Do you mean that sincerely?" Jake asks me. I huff before looking back at Jake. "Yes. I do," I say to him truthfully. "Alright well. Finneas decided that it was best that I'd break the news to you," Jake says before sitting up in his seat. I look at him with my eyebrows furrowed, and suddenly a deep trench of anxiety forms in the pit of my stomach. "What is it?" I ask him. He hesitates before speaking. "Lilith is coming back to LA to work on the stage crew," Jake says. My eyes slightly widen. Fuck. ~~~ A year has gone by and now Lilith is back. Although a reunion is coming up, a year can change a person drastically, and as they say, change is inevitable. Will Lilith be able to reconnect with Billie? Or is it seemingly hopeless? Will Lilith finally remember Billie? Or did change form Lilith into a completely different person? ~~~ (This is the Second Book to the first book called 'Sweet Belladonna'. I highly recommend you go back to read the first one before continuing on reading this one, or else you'll be majorly confused.) ~~~ AU (Alternate Universe); Though some characters are real, this is fiction. Keep that in mind. Will contain explicit language, depression, anxiety episodes, violence, smoking, drinking, trauma, drugs, and real-life events that occur. +18 Votes and Comments help me a ton, so please feel free to do so.

"What? Are we housing the French homeless now?" I snort again. That's what her accent sounded like, French. "Raven Martin Matthews!" My mother gasped. "Be nice!" She turned to the girl and lead the way, "Come let me show you to your room." "And oh to be clear, I'm French-Australian," she narrowed her eyes at me. "That doesn't make any sense," I roll my eyes and grab the suitcases, following behind them. ... Liz is forced to move across the hemisphere and move in with her godmother, Claudia, and her horrible son, Raven, yes like the black bird. Raven doesn't like people invading her personal space, and doesn't trust easily. And worse, he tests the shit out of Liz from the day she moved in. Liz on the other hand, is a survivor. What she is a survivor of? Read to find out ;)
