blake isn't one to push around. after her brother was enlisted into the military, she had to grow up fast. her parents split a few year before she was legal; her dad left for europe and her mom, brother and herself went to a small town in northwest florida. golf was a release for her. whether it was throwing the club across the course and screaming her frustrations of the day to the empty sky or hitting an ace and celebrating with ice cream. it was the only thing that was constant in her life.
connor is independent. if he can't do a task by himself, then he won't do it at all. making friends isn't on his radar until he needs a job and the only one he was willing to apply for was for caddying at a local golf course. little did he was actually being hired to potentially be blake miller's caddy.

... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either.
