Back in Town

"I open up my heart to you and you do this to me!" I hiss pointing to the room where his play toy is. Ya that's right he cheated on me. I walked in on him and that slut going at it. "Baby, please, it was a one time thing. I wasn't thinking. I love you!" he says sounding desperate. "Stop it Colby!" I shout tears pouring down my face."You don't love me because if you did my best friend wouldn't be in there laying naked on your bed right now!" I shout a little quieter though. "I love you Baby! So much it hurts. I'll do anything, just please forgive me!" he says still sounding desperate. "I can't do this anymore Colby!" I sigh defeated."What do you mean?" he says through clenched teeth. I look at him and see his jaw is tight and his fists are at his side. He's clenching them so tight their turning white. "I'm leaving town, leaving you and I'm not coming back. So this is goodbye!" I say."You aren't leaving me. I won't have it. Your mine!" he growled. I shake my head and he slaps me across the face. I was stunned, he has never once laid a hand in me that wasn't wanted. I feel the tears fall down my face as he stiffens even more so than before. After I realize he isn't going to say anything, I wipe the tears from my face and look at him. "I'm sorry Colby." I say turning on my heels and running down the stairs and out the front door. Three years later... Meredith is now 21 and has finished college at NYU; she majored in marine biology. She returns back home to work for her aunt and uncle at their marine life rescue center. When she arrives she finds the guy that broke her heart. He crushed it into a million pieces by sleeping with her best friend. She hasn't talked to either of them since that day. She couldn't bare it. She'd still break down even if it has been three years. She knows Colby has moved on by now but she just can't bring herself to. He took her heart and he has failed to return it.
