Having the fate of the world in your hands is a big responsibility, and Jamie doesn't think that she can handle it, but the option to give it away dissipated along with any chance of a normal life when her wings sprouted. These were not your typical fairy wings but were the wings of an angel, and because of them she was forced into a boarding school by her piece of shit dad.
