Haviland Sastre and Fara Kane are members of the Shadows, a bodyguard troop. Once they complete their training at age nineteen, it is time for them to attend the Scouting, where they will find the lord or lady they will serve for the rest of their days.

Haviland finds Lord Esper Devos, an anomaly amongst the social hierarchy of the wealthy but is not the man everyone thinks he is, and the two kindle an unlikely friendship.

Fara stumbles upon Lord Viktor Bainnor, a highly likable man sought out by countless women, but one who has a mysterious and dark past that may be more than what Fara had bargained for.

But while everyone is entangled in politics and gang wars, something awakens in the uncharted wastelands of Andreyes. Alliances will be tested, bonds will be broken, and a dangerous secret will be revealed.
