My father was granted the mutant ability to become and transfer immortality. My mother was blessed with the mutant ability to turn anything she touched into fire. Evidently, I was not God's favorite. I was stuck with pure humanity, but then again power changes you, turns you into something your children do not recognize. Although, it seems to be that I'm the one with all the power now, considering what happened.

She was bleeding from her mouth and nose, when I went to help the shadow smacked me into the wall. My mom screamed in pain as I watched her turn into orange dust. The shadow spoke to me "Happiness is a lie. Life is horror. The light is always dying, all across the universe. The last star will flicker out someday. When it does, all that remains... shadow. And I will be its king, You have Xavier to thanks for this... " As it got closer I raised my hand and screamed a burning pain emanated from my hand and a bright light submerged the house... destroying 12 square blocks where were Xavier's X-men no where.

Kerri was just a normal teenager with maybe a little worse than normal home life, and an ok but dull school life. That is, until she one day develops an interesting problem. She gains mutant powers, and her appearance starts changing randomly with her emotions. Now she has to try and keep those under a tighter lock than before, because mutant hysteria has hit her town, and she went from an unknown quiet bookworm to the topic on everybody's tongue. Then it really hits the fan at home and she has to leave before it gets worse. Luckily, Professor Charles Xavier finds her and saves her from the streets before something unthinkable can happen to her. Unfortunately it took him a year to find her and she's withdrawn from the world, and isn't used to socializing with humans anymore. And then there's Kurt, code name Nightcrawler. He's a mutant too, and has been treated differently his whole life because of the way he looks. The best day of his life was coming to the institute and getting the hologram that hides the way he really looks so he can finally look like everyone else. But when the newest student comes to the school, he finds himself judging her by looks too. Until she pushes him into showing her his true appearance and marks his life as the first person to ever tell him that he looks better without the hologram. Then, as promised, she shows him what she really looks like and he falls for her. Too bad there's only two trimesters left of his senior year before he graduates. Will Kurt be able to pull Kerri out of her shell before he graduates and has to find what to do next with his life?
