It doesn't matter if you loved them with all your heart, it doesn't matter if you protected them through it all, and it doesn't matter if you don't want them to turn it happens no matter what. If you get taken, if they bite you, or if they scratch you, that's the end of your story, your ticket got punched. Despite the harshness of this reality, this is something that Emily understood far too well, she knew the Fallen had taken over, that was just plain fact. But, she still was not ready for his death, for Daniel's death, and she still doesn't know what happens next. Yet, she doesn't want to die anymore, she yearns to live, she doesn't want to be afraid anymore, she wants to survive, no matter what it takes.
