In 1930’s England, girls of wealth are taught to sit down, keep quiet, act sweet, and wait for a proper suitor to approach them. But Meredith is different. Meredith Windsor is a stuck-up teen who is ignorant toward her butler Harold Styles, who seems to have feelings for her. Her wealth makes him invisible to her. She spends her days studying and making clothes so she can grow up to be something more than someone’s wife. She doesn’t plan on getting married as her sister Marilyn is, but she does like the attention of the young men. However, when she turns 18, she visits a speakeasy her friend’s father owns and she sees Harold singing there. She doesn’t realize it’s him, though, because he goes by a stage name of Harry Edward. She becomes enchanted with the elusive Harry and sets her sights on claiming him as a suitor. She can’t seem to get alone with him, and meanwhile Harold is creeping closer and closer, soon piquing her interest as well. When she finally figures out the coherence of her lover and love, it may be too late. Harry’s friend Barbara has already spliced her way into the equation, and Harry’s new career may warrant a need for a quick hitch to a woman with cash. Will Meredith forget the man who may very well be her true love?
