Living in a society that lives off of flesh Chole wants to be better. Her drive to be human again is the only thing that keeps her from becoming a full zombie but shes slowly losing hope until Zach comes along.
He's a weird nerd who is 'a pro dead specialist' because of his gaming skills and zombie knowledge. Will he and Chole be able to be human again or will they lose all humanity?

⚠️This is a cringe! A zombie, monster apocalypse is not something I thought I would have to live through. But here I am. The only reason I'm alive however is because I'm not stupid. I've teamed up with all sorts of people and watched them die. Each one because of a stupid decision. However theres something I've been missing. An old man I met on my way to the city taught me something important which led me to the spot I'm in now. In a mall, defending a zombie against a group of humans. Life is fucking crazy. This is a dangerous fellow fanfic but its basically a Oc x MaleReader. Update- I am currently actually making endings for everyone, so I lied it's not and Oc x reader. Welcome to the future, written in the past. A mutant plague has rendered part of the population as zombie-like humanoids. They have a conscious mind though, but their craving for brains is a bit of an antisocial issue. Being mostly made up of impoverished individuals, it is not surprised that they got cured cheaply and lastly, despite being the main test subjects. Lochlyn is their representative. She just wanted an education beyond elementary school. A little luckier stricken part of the infected population evolved into reverents. Reverants have a feudal system over the zombies to "keep them in order". The luck may have had to do with them being upper-class when being treated. Basilica is their representative. At eighteen, she wanted body modifications, a job, and etc... as a rite of passage entering adulthood. At least that's what she was thinking. The more she was told no, the more she wondered what she could do. There are still uninfected humans left in the U.S.A. Most of them are middle-class. Katrina is their representative. She gained a family member, but lost two. She aches to find out why she can never return home again. The three eighteen-year-old females, along with their beaus, journey for truth, equality, justice, restoration, love, and freedom lead them to the same end: the capital. They said that "Changing is part of LIFE.", at least that's what the CSD (Change and Save Department) used to say. They thought they created a "cure". A cure to save many people's lives from sickness, cancer, and all. Unfortunately... They were wrong. It was fine at first... However, their first test subject? It was for no good. Instead of a cure, they made a "virus". The virus is incurable for now. Many people protested against the CSD and the government. It changed.. but it was never saved... They said that once they bit you, in an hour the virus will spread throughout your body and kill you, then you'll be alive but not like you used to be. There are many survivors, but there are also many who have been turned into monsters. They call these monsters, "zombies". The CSD promised that they'll find a cure, but much-lost hope, lost hope for being alive, lost hope for survival. A 17 yrs. the old girl was in between that. Everything might sound and look horrible but she never lost hope for survival. "I'm running out of food.." she kept on talking to herself since there was no one but her. She saw a grocery store nearby so she checked it out if there were food, and fortunately, there was. She stuffed the food in her bag until she heard something. "Is someone there?" She asked, she hoped it wasn't what she thought about but there it was. The zombie's legs were twisted so it will have a hard time catching her. However, she never encountered that close. She stuffed the last food in her bag and ran. She ran to the girl's restroom. When she opened the door there were zombies! It almost caught her but fortunately, nothing happened to her. She ran back but there were more! "Please don't say this is how I'm going to die!" She said to herself. Is she going to die? Who will she meet? Will they survive this cruel world?? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. That is until she crosses paths with Nate and his daughter, Emmi. Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself.
