Eleonore Ruth (nicknamed The Fox) is hired to steal a dragon from the Research Departement of Dragon Studies. Dominic Calder is guarding the dragon egg without knowing what it exactly is. But before Eleonore can get to the dragon, someone else steals it, so the two decide to chase the thief because Dominic might get thrown out of the school if he loses the egg and Eleonore has to finish her job.

During the journey, they develop a friendship and meet a lot of different people. But will they succeed in retrieving the egg? Or will this be the end of Dominic's life as a dragon master?
