Anouk Ludwig befindet sich an dem Ort, den man gemeinhin als Abseits der Gesellschaft bezeichnet. Sie redet nicht gerne und auch nicht viel. Stattdessen beobachtet sie und sieht Dinge. Dinge, die nicht dort seien sollten. Die Medikation gegen ihre psychischen Leiden wirkt bereits seit ein paar Wochen nicht mehr wie zuvor, und alles um sie herum scheint umso grauenvoller auf sie einzuwirken. Fratzen, Stimmen, Angst. Die Angst, die ihr den Verstand raubt. Und niemand will ihr glauben, nicht einmal sie selbst. Aus wachsendem Misstrauen vor der Außenwelt verkehrt Anouk immer häufiger im sogenannten 'Dreamland', einer Webseite, die nur über das Deep Web erreichbar ist und auf der Menschen, die sich aus freien Stücken im Abseits der Gesellschaft befinden, unfreiwillig Verstoßene und verkannte Genies ihr virtuelles Leben führen. Doch ist es letztendlich nur der Kaninchenbau, in den auch die verwirrte, junge Anouk immer tiefer hineinstürzt.
