In the second part of The Dragon Trainer's Tale trilogy, Kira and her companions continue on their journey through the war-ravaged land of Daranall. Along with her old friends, she has now been joined by her long-lost cousin, Tiberius.
     With danger lurking on every side, Kira begins to be unsure of who she can really trust. Everyone has their secrets, and it seems to Kira that Tiberius knows something about her companions that she does not. In addition, Tenor and Gwin are in grave danger of being spotted by the soldiers and civilians that they meet.
     If her secret is discovered, everything that Kira cares about will be lost. To protect her friends and her home, she must risk her life in what is admittedly probably a suicidal journey. Even if she returns to her mountains alive, she will never be the same person again.
