The world is divided into two halves, one for those with magic, the other without. In a world full of magic, you'd think it'd make life a lot better, and it does, for those who have that gift. But for the rest, it means poverty, no wealth, no influence, no power. She is an abandoned child, only to be adopted by a lonely seamstress. She has the features of a Sparker, otherwise known as a magic user, but she has never shown any sign of magic, so no one in her town really thinks of her as anything special. But when visitors arrive, they give her a choice to make a life of her own, full of excitement and adventure, will she take it, or stay at home helping her poor mother?
