How would you feel, if you were just the crazy girl? The girl who doesn't have a life, doesn't have a family and is locked away in a mental institution. Camille is anything but crazy, she's smart, funny, sarcastic, slightly weird, but definitely not psychotic. She is what you might call 'cursed'. When she looks at the object or living thing of interest, she sees their death number, she knows when they will die. Big, bold letters always hanging over their heads, counting down their demise. 

What does she do with this power? Why was she born with this curse? The curse that got her locked away, never allowed to be normal, always viewed differently. No matter what, destiny has a plan for this girl and it all starts with a mysterious new boy, who brings change and trouble into her already screwed up world. Can she unlock the secrets behind the numbers?

We know you have powers; we can sense them on you. We can do this because we have powers too. We call it magic. If you want, we can show you.” “Prove it then.” ~^~^~^~^~ There was a monster inside of her – a dark thing that always tried to claw its way out, ripping her insides to shreds as it went. She found no relief from it, maybe because she had no happy memories to find solace in, nor anyone to find comfort in. And yet, Amber could be the catalyst to setting a series of events that had been prophesied centuries before, into motion, bringing together three more people – the embodiments of the Emblems – to bring magic back to life. But in this underlying world of Adepts, Demons and secrets within secrets, unlocking their potential will be harder than you think. ~^~^~^~^~^ So, this is my 2014 Nanowrimo story, which is basically an attempt to rewrite Phoenix, where it shall go through major changes in plot, characters as well as effects of my new-and-improved writing style. She's nauseous and weak; still, she forces her brain to stay awake. Ignoring the pain of reopening old injuries. There are more bruises she can't hide, more pain to bear, but she's finally tired to do it in silence. She wipes the humiliating tears off her face. "Don't you dare touch me again." she defies the monster. "I don't even think God is on your side," he says with a reeking smell of alcohol. At the same time, a loud thunder with the brightest lightning illuminates the sky, the rain pours heavily A tall man elegantly walks forward, evidently upset he glances at the girl with the corner of his beautiful crystal blue eyes, tearing apart the man who has dared to put his hands on the girl he's been trying to protect. "A leech like you would never understand the depths of my trust for this girl." The God of Water stands behind her, like a bodyguard. "Giving up has never been an option for you, perhaps taking the garbage out of your way can help you find your freedom." The mysterious man says. Just as he finishes his sentence, a bolt of lightning strikes loudly in the sky. He turns to face the monster as he freezes in shock, He knows, this time he won't be forgiven.

I couldn't breathe. I couldn't see. An intense bubbling pressure filled my mind and a burning pain filled my body like lava. Was I moving? Fighting? I couldn't even tell. The pain is unbearable, and I have never felt so detached from my mind ever before. Is this death? All at once the fiery burning pain that filled my veins turned to ice, and a new pain formed, sending my body into a shock. I could feel my teeth chattering like a woodpecker on wood, and hear it slightly also; Why can I shiver but not scream? My thoughts didn't carry far, as I felt my body come slightly back into my control, the pain still under my skin and ears ringing. I started thrashing and yelling due to my new found control of my body. My voice sounded foreign to my ears, and came out more a gargle than a yell, something was in my mouth. I felt hands against my arms, restraining me and voices speaking quickly and hushed. A sharp pain in my neck brought me darkness and the pain finally stopped. Number Three is thrown into a confusing trial of tests regarding her new found abilities and developments, although she is left with no memory of what was before. All she knows is that her existence is for Project Interitus, or that's at least what the doctors who run the facility say. Luckily for her she isn't alone in these new found discoveries, three colleagues join her, One, Four, and Seven. All of them are wary and unsure of the facility in which they stay, nor trusting of the people who run the trials, as they continue to dismiss and silence any questions or thoughts they have regarding how they came to be or what they're there for. Memories resurface, and curiosity grows stronger as this group of test subjects become closer and more intuitive, making it more of a challenge for them to be controlled without rebellion. What is the purpose of her abilities? Will Three ever regain her memories of the past or did she never have one to begin with? Lets just hope she survives.

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it. Whoever that was is like us. "Did you just see that?" I ask "You're that person my brother and I saw," He says. Oh no... Why then? "Wait! You're-" Completed just editing. (Don't be too harsh please)
