"Let's jump... Together," he told her, taking her hand in his. His steady breath soothed her. She looked up and met his gaze, before she nodded and repeated his words, "Together." Megan was too young to be facing the reality of her life. She was slowly, painfully dying inside. She had faced the truth, she wasn't going to win the battle. Her hope was long gone. She had given up. For good this time. She was embracing the darkness of her life, and she felt soothed with it. The pain was still there, but she could barely feel it.
