Melanie's husband had been in a car accident. And passed away for a year now. Her friends Victoria and Levi, believe it is time to get Melanie out and about again. So they try setting her up with someone they believe is the perfect match for Mel. Levi's best friend. But she chose to build her walls up so nobody else could be let in. Afraid that if she did. She'd lose them as she lost her husband. Melanie decided she'd rather be alone. Than let someone in and have a chance of being hurt again. Of losing someone again.
Anthony Clark had been friends with Victoria and Levi for quite some time. He himself has a troubled past. Making it difficult to trust people. Anthony is also worried he would be left behind again. Should he decide to take a chance, and let someone in. Both him and Mel can be stubborn in their ways.
However, Anthony chooses in taking Levi's advice. Deciding to pursue Mel. Anthony discovers the more he hangs out with her. Bit by bit, she's able to help heal him. She's able to help him forget the events of his past. Anthony hopes Mel can do the same in return. So he does his best to help her. As she helped him. But Melanie won't give in. She doesn't want to give him a chance. Or anyone.. As Mel fears she's a curse to anyone who comes near her. Will Anthony be able to break down the walls that Melanie tried so hard to build up?

This is my original story. Please do not steal. Sequel to First Catch. Melanie and Anthony have slowly been letting each other into their lives bit by bit. Anthony had somehow found a way of breaking down the walls Melanie had tried so hard to build up. And kept her from letting anyone in. Melanie is now pregnant with Anthony's child. She has been battling her feelings of guilt, as it still hasn't been all that long since losing her husband Paul in the car accident. Afraid of losing Anthony. Melanie at first pretended like she cared for the man. So he wouldn't run away from her. So she wouldn't lose him like she lost Paul. But she was only kidding herself. As time goes on. Melanie begins to realize she develops feelings for the man, no matter how hard she tried not to. That she could possibly love him. Melanie realized in her scheme of things. She no longer was pretending. And she couldn't exactly hide her feelings any longer. As she knew Anthony was becoming aware of this. Melanie becomes frightened. And the fear allows for Melanie to keep pushing Anthony away. In Melanie's subconscious, she knows Anthony somehow always chooses to come back. After all. Anthony stops at my bare shoulder and leans down to press a hot kiss onto the skin. "You can't say things like that.."
