"Gradient?"
"Yeah," he cracked a sweet smile, his sparkling eyes boring into mine. Pupils dilated as if he saw something more than a charity case in the shape of an uninteresting girl standing before him. 
"It's beautiful," he whispered. 
And that's when I realized.
